Jamie & Shawn, December 1, 2017, Old Daley on Crooked Lake
Jamie and Shawn’s wedding day began at Custom Cutters salon where Jamie and her girls were getting their hair and makeup done. Good vendor friend, Julie Occhino was working hard on Jamie’s makeup when we arrived. The bridesmaids were all in good spirits and Jamie was relaxed sipping on her mimosa. Jamie is a spit fire to say the least, and she kept us on our toes through out the day with jokes and funny banter that kept the day fun and mood light. We headed over to Old Daley on Crooked Lake ahead of the girls and photographed Jamie’s gorgeous gown on a dress form (which I HIGHLY SUGGEST getting if you’re getting married for these shots). The dress always looks it’s best on a dress form other than that on a Bride and makes for a beautiful picture. Shawn and his guys arrived and began getting dressed. Shawn has deep Scottish heritage in his family and proceeded to get dressed in true Scottish form. A tartan kilt, and a lucky rabbit foot were part of his attire and it was neat hearing him tell us the significance of each piece he put on. Jamie arrived and got into her dress and then the couple had a First Look outside of Old Daley in front of their gorgeous entrance. It was a brisk day, and being the winter, the sun was setting fast, so we made quick use of the grounds and captured some warm golden glow on the couple. We love how Shawn’s red kilt popped in the pictures. The couple were married indoors and guests were greeted by a bag piper as they took their seat. At the end of the ceremony, Shawn’s sister presented Jamie a tartan scarf welcoming her to their family (aka clan). The entire wedding moved to the ballroom and everyone had so much fun dancing the night away to music played by another good friend of ours, Mike Reilly of CT Productions. It was such a fun evening.
Thanks Jamie and Shawn for introducing us to some Scottish traditions and having us capture your beautiful day. We had a lot of fun with you both and wish you continued happiness for your future together.
