Hope & Conor’s Franklin Plaza Wedding Troy NY Wedding Photographers

Hope & Conor, November 9, 2018, Franklin Plaza

Years ago, in another life (just kidding), Meghan was a teacher.  It’s been quite some time since Meg last taught and during her first year of teaching, she had Hope as a student in her 6th grade class.  It was pretty neat to get the chance to photograph a former student’s wedding day as seeing Hope and her family was a blast from the past.  Hope has grown into a beautiful girl and she was gorgeous when we arrived in her hotel suite at Best Western Franklin Square. The girls were finished with hair and makeup and were mingling around in their matching robes when we arrived.  Hope had 2 wedding gowns she had planned to wear.  One, that she would be wed in, was her Grandmother’s 50 year old Wedding gown.  Rumor has it that the lace on the gown was smuggled back from Italy to make the dress.  The other gown was a much different style that she would wear for the reception.  After Hope’s mom and Conor’s (Groom’s mom) mom helped Hope get dressed, we went across the street to Franklin Plaza for the bride and bridesmaids photos.  Since the couple were not doing a first look, we had Hope head back to her hotel room, and then got Conor and his guys and did their photos over at Franklin Plaza as well.  Everyone then drove over to Sacred Heart church in Castleton. Hope’s grandfather drove her in his vintage car.  The couple were married in a beautiful church ceremony.  We all then headed back to Franklin Plaza where Hope changed into gown #2 and we shot the couple’s portraits both outside and on Franklin’s roof top.  It started to rain, but it afforded us with some amazing umbrella shots here and there, and the couple were troopers to shoot in the rain.  The reception was held in Franklin’s ballroom and guests danced the night away and enjoyed a candy bar laid out by the couple.  It was a great day.  Congrats again Hope and Conor and thanks for choosing Hitlin Photography as your photographers.  It was truly a pleasure.
