Kassandra & Coleman, September 30, 2023, Windham Mountain Club
We wrapped up our September Weddings with Kassandra and Coleman’s Wedding in Windham. Formally called Windham Mountain Resort, the whole resort was undergoing a renovation and name change to Windham Mountain Club right around this time. When we arrived up near the mountain, we couldn’t get over the gorgeous color from the foliage (as it had just started in higher elevations). What was more interesting was when you looked up the mountain, there was a thick layer of fog right on top. Knowing the couple were to be married up top and do most photos up there, we switched our plans around to do the First Look down near the resort. Kassandra and her girls got ready at the Alpine Spa building on property, where Coleman was up at the resort. The girls were all smiles when we arrived and we did a fun champagne pop outside and Kassandra read a book of pictures and images from her bridesmaids and then her own vow book for a quiet moment before the festivities. Coleman and his guys were trying to figure out how to properly tie a bow time when we arrived to them. Online videos helped a lot; LOL. The couple had their first look up at the main entrance to the Resort and on the opposite side, there was some pretty vivid fall foliage that was begging for a photo backdrop. We did the majority of the couple’s portraits, Wedding Party and even family near the Resort. The couple’s 2 dogs; Milo and Mochi even participated and were wearing special outfits for the day. The decision to keep the ceremony up top was kept and guests began the ski lift ride up. Keith got in front of the Groom and guys for some pictures. Half way up the mountain, they hit the fog and the photos are UNREAL. Meanwhile at the bottom, Meg got in the lift in front of the Bride and her girls for their trip up. The ceremony site looked like it sat in a cloud. There was also a fine mist in the air. It was like being in a dream. Guests could grab a blanket and were served hot cider with a shot of Fireball, if they wanted to keep warm. Kassandra walking with her dad through the fog to the Ceremony was so interesting and ethereal. The couple and all the guests chuckled at the conditions of weather, but everyone agreed how cool it turned out to be. After being officially wed, we did a few shots up top with the couple and their dogs and wedding party before everyone made their way back down the mountain. The just married ski lift ride always makes for great pics for mountain weddings. Guests enjoyed a cocktail hour outside and then were greeted to the Reception space where they located their table by various locations the couple had traveled to. It turned into such a fun night with dancing and celebration. Congratulations Kassandra and Coleman. You really had a beautiful day and one we will totally be telling stories about for years to come as the fog made for a truly memorable experience.
