Cassie & Shawn, Pinecrest Lake and Kalahari Resorts, Poconos, PA, July 21, 2018

Keith and I have been anticipating this wedding for awhile now.  Cassie & Shawn booked us two years ago after meeting up with us for a consult in our old office.  Keith knew Shawn when he was younger as he would watch him and his brother for his parents.  Shawn grew up and became a helicopter pilot and met Cassie through training for his career.  The couple reside in PA now and Shawn actually flew us in a small aircraft from NY to PA for their engagement session.  For their big day, we packed the car and drove out to PA for a few days.  Cassie and her girls got ready in the morning in the gorgeous bridal suite at Kalahari Resorts in Pocono Manor, PA.  We met up with videographer Peter Mackey and his crew and we got to work shooting prep.  Down the hall Shawn got ready with his guys, so it was easy to slip in and get some prep of him as well.  The couple got dressed and then both opened letters and gifts from each other.  The guys stayed at the hotel, while the girls traveled over to Pinecrest Lake Golf & Country Club where we did some portraits of them.  Cassie’s dad rented a vintage car for the day, so we had fun photographing that as well.  We then proceeded down to the lake to meet Shawn and the guys.  Weather became a factor at this point as everyone was noticing forecasts on their phones calling for showers within the hour.  Shawn; being a pilot, and Cassie’s dad; who is also a pilot, conferred and decided they had a quick pocket of time, so no plans were changed.  It was sprinkling as the Ceremony began on Pinecrest Lake’s beach, but quickly stopped in the middle of the service.  After photos on the beach, we went back to Pinecrest Lake Golf Course for more pictures of the couple and the entire wedding party since it was so beautiful there.  We ended our travel back at Kalahari Resorts and took some pictures inside since the rain started to come at that point.  A reception for 250 guests was held in the main ballroom and The Bachelor Boys Band played for everyone to dance.  The first dance was danced to a song that had the couple reading their vows over the song and pictures were displayed on large video screens of the couple throughout the dance.  Even the parent dances were quite sentimental as guests could watch childhood pics of the Bride and Groom as they danced with their parents.  It was truly a spectacular weekend for Cassie and Shawn and we are so honored that they choose Hitlin Photography to capture their Wedding Day.
