Sara & Daniel, April 2, 2022, The Edison Downtown
Sara and Daniel (Dan) were married back at the beginning of April this year. We were excited to work at a new local venue and had done a site visit of the Edison Downtown a few weeks prior to the big day. We made plans of favorite locations to shoot in this very neat, modern, and industrial looking space. We arrived on the day of and Sara was finishing getting her hair and makeup done up in the bridal suite. The couple had a very intimate bridal party; which consisted of Sara’s children and her niece. Sara’s mom and daughter helped her into her gown. Meanwhile, Dan arrived with Sara’s son downstairs and we did some quick pics of them before Sara came down and the couple had their First Look. You can just tell by Dan’s face how in love he is with Sara. He really only smiles when she is around; which we love. We spent some time with the couple doing some photos throughout the building inside. We did hop outside quickly but it was a bit chilly that day so we moved quick. A very cool feature of the Edison is the “control room.” It is located downstairs and is a small space consisting of levers and switches that shows part of the history of the building and showcases it’s former residents. We did some neat dark shots with the couple in there. Sara and Dan were married in the ceremony space and then everyone moved to the main dining room for cocktail hour and dinner. Live music was played during the ceremony and cocktail hour. Each table had a special created centerpiece including ferns and natural elements along with little artificial birds that were really neat. After dinner, the entire guest list moved downstairs to the grand dance hall to witness the couple’s entrance and first dance. Everyone had a blast dancing and getting their pictures taken in the photo booth. We ended the night with the couple’s cake cutting. Congratulations to Sara and Dan! We wish you both all the love in the world and really enjoyed capturing your big day together.
