Caitlin & Shawn, December 31, 2020, Albany, NY
We wrapped up the most interesting year we’ve ever had with on the very last day of the year capturing the Wedding of Caitlin and Shawn. These two originally were going to be married in June 2020, but COVID had different plans. They restructured their plans and changed the date. They decided on New Year’s Eve. They still wanted to have their original ceremony, but decided to postpone their Reception to another date. We started the day quite early by first heading over to the guys at the couple’s home. Shawn was already dressed and ready to go when we arrived. If you know Shawn, he is a go getter and a ball full of energy. Also I swear, this guy has the best laugh smile for a guy that we’ve ever shot. We took some shots of him and his guys there and then drove across town to where Cait and her girls were getting ready. They had already finished hair and makeup when we arrived and Cait started to pour some drinks from the cute Mimosa Bar for everyone. After a celebratory toast to the Bride, Cait got dressed with the help of her mom and Maid of Honor. When we left Bride Prep., the weather was cold and expected for December, but when we arrived at the First Look location in downtown Albany, it was like all the wind was centered there. It was frigid. The guys were huddled in a CDTA bus shelter when we arrived, so we worked quickly. Cait arrived and we quickly learned we had to take her veil off for pics or she would have blown away. You would never know how windy and cold it was just by looking at these two and their pics. They were troopers. Everyone moved over to Historic St. Mary’s Church to get ready for the ceremony. The couple were married in a Catholic Ceremony inside surrounded by close family and friends. After the Ceremony and family photos, we went up to the Empire Plaza for some more photos and got to spend a little more time with the couple as the wind had died down a little. We wrapped up with them in the early afternoon as they planned to travel to an intimate dinner with family and friends near Sacandaga Lake. Cait and Shawn, we are so happy we were still able to work with you and be there for your special day. You two are an amazing couple and we just adore you. Wishing you both all the happiness in the world.
