Over the years, Keith and I have photographed weddings in many different places, and it really is exciting when we get the opportunity to shoot somewhere new to us. We headed down to Westchester County, NY at the beginning of December for the wedding of Megan and Michael. We met the couple through a past KHP wedding that we did of their friend. Megan told us they would have the reception in a castle, and when we arrived, we could see why couples choose Whitby Castle as their venue. The outside looks like something out of Camelot. We got to work quickly with Megan and her girls upstairs and bounced back and forth to the guys, who were prepping downstairs. After a first look just outside the castle doors, we got some great shots of the couple and their bridal party as the December sun was fading. A beautiful 1956 Rolls Royce arrived and whisked the couple off to the church down the road for their ceremony. When the couple came out the church doors after they were wed, they were greeted to a bag pipe player, which was a gift from Megan to Michael. We then headed back to Whitby for some fun shots of the couple with their cool car at dusk and then everyone proceeded to a grandiose cocktail hour. During their elegantly appointed reception, the couple not only had a DJ, but hired NY Famous band, The Nerds to perform. They are a class act and if you ever get a chance to go see them, you must; so much fun and tons of energy.
Megan and Mike, thanks for such a beautiful day with you both. We had a ton of fun and we were honored that you chose us to photograph your big day. Love to you both!
