Ashley & Blake, September 24, 2016, Cricket Creek Farm, Williamstown, MA & MASS MoCA, North Adams, MA
We are so excited to share this wedding that was beyond believable. Ashley and Blake had an absolutely amazing wedding day filled with everything from unique locations, farm animals, and even modern contemporary art. Ashley and Blake live closer to the eastern part of MA, but have attended the Fresh Grass festival at MASS MoCA a few times and have absolutely fallen in love with the western MA area surrounding the museum and the museum itself. They knew once they had started planning a wedding, that it would be their ideal place to get married.
The day started at the Porches Inn where the girls and guys got ready in separate rooms. This cute, little inn has multiple buildings that are connected by a long front porch. After their first look right on the porch, we headed to their ceremony location in the next town. The couple chose Cricket Creek Farm in Williamstown, MA, which is a grass-based dairy farm, and one of the oldest dairy farms in the region. The weather was perfect with just a bit of Autumn chill in the air and after some shots of the couple, their wedding party, and family, guests arrived to a ceremony location with a view that was beyond belief. The sky was dramatic, and guest chairs faced a large tree acting as an altar. Cows were seen behind the tree and when the ceremony began, they actually sat down for the majority of the ceremony. It was like being in a painting. After the ceremony, guests enjoyed farm made cheeses and then everyone headed back to North Adams to the reception at MASS MoCA (Massachussettes Musuem of Contemporary Art). We’ve done multiple weddings here and it is so unique. Bride and Grooms have their pick of art installments to have pictures taken in front of. It was a drastic difference from their farm ceremony The cocktail hour also occurred within some of the installment rooms. This couple loved the edgy feel of the museum and we captured it wonderfully. The Reception was in the lobby of the museum and guests danced the night away to Rhode Island based band, Nancy Paolino and the Black Tie Band.
Thanks again Ashley and Blake for letting us “hang out” with you on your big day. You two are amazing people and we are so lucky to have met you both and captured your love on your big day. Wishing you many years of love!
