Amber and Shawn chose a very special day for both of them to get married; Independence Day! Ya see military runs very strong in both of their lives, with Shawn being an active member of the NY Air National Guard, 109th Air Lift Wing, and numerous members of Amber’s family serving or have served in the military. Amber grew up being an “army brat,” living on numerous Army bases where her father, AKA “Sarge” was based. So of course, 4th of July made sense, and we just love that they brought along her father’s special flag given to him by a fellow veteran as a prop to use throughout the day. The pride in this family was contagious!
We started in Albany Country Club’s spacious bridal suite where we hung the flag behind Amber’s wedding gown. It truly made for some stunning pics. Shawn got ready down the hall. Weather called for rain, and if you know about Albany Country Club, the sky can be absolutely amazing with the views over the area. The couple wanted a first look, which made everything fall neatly into place, getting most of the photos completed in case of rain. The weather held off and the couple were married on the beautiful patio in front of family and friends. Kim and her staff at Albany Country Club are seriously top notch; making the day run as smoothly as possible and we just love working along her and her staff; especially Kenny (a known staple of the area). Thanks again Amber and Shawn for choosing KHP for your big day. We wish you love, peace, and happiness ever after!
