Theresa & Chris’ New York City Engagement Session

We were so excited when Theresa and Chris decided on doing their Engagement Session down in New York City.  We (Keith and I) closely watched the forecast for the week and it looked to be partly cloudy throughout the day of the shoot.  We jumped in the car and headed down the NY State Thruway, and on our way there, we hear on a NY City Radio Station that there were predictions for off and on showers throughout the day.  I swear, NY City is unlike anywhere else when it comes to weather. One minute they say, partly cloudy and then a few hours prior, predict it will rain.  I have to admit, we were slightly bummed, but we came prepared with one of our beautiful umbrellas in the back of the car (which is always there, just in case).

We met the couple downtown at a really cool watering hole they met at, called Ulysses Folkhouse.  We took a few shots there, but were disappointed that temporary tents were put up in their outside seating area because of the rain.  We decided we needed to find locations with overhead cover, so we took a short walk over to South Street Seaport.  We got some interesting shots at an overhead bar and out on the famous pier overlooking the Brooklyn Bridge.  After that, we hopped in the car and headed up to Central Park for some more shots.  I have to say, Theresa and Chris were so great to work with and even though it rained and we were not able to shoot at some of our first choices, we definitely made the best of our day together.  We can’t wait till their May 2014 Wedding at the Diamond Mills Hotel in Saugerties, NY.

Ulysses’ Folk House is where they met!

AH, so perfect and SO GLAD WE HAD THAT UMBRELLA IN THE CAR!!!

I love how there are tourists everywhere but we could capture such an intimate moment between these two.

Probably our favorite shots of the day.  I love the musicians in the background.

Did you know most of the benches in Central Park are marked with plaques from people who donated?  This was a good one!

Spin her around Chris!
