Elizabeth & Ian’s Old Daley Inn on Crooked Lake Wedding Rensselaer County NY Wedding Photographer

As wedding photographers, we see it all, but probably one of the most interesting things we get to capture is the wedding ceremony through various cultures.  The Jewish tradition is full of details and symbolism.  The couple create a “marriage contract” known as the Ketubah and the intimacy created by doing this is typically just witnessed by very close family members and friends.  During the ceremony, the bride and groom circle each other three times and drink wine to celebrate their union to one another.  Everyone’s favorite is the breaking of the glass as the Rabbi announces they are bound together.

Elizabeth  (or better know as Lizz) and Ian chose one of our favorite venues as their place of celebration; Old Daley Inn on Crooked Lake.  The girls were greeted upstairs to food and beverages in their bridal suite and even the guys have their own suite across the hall.  We did a first look and then the couple were married outdoors under the Huppah, which was created by floral designer Kris Ann from Fleurtacious Designs.  The weather forecast called for showers and storms all day, but held out long enough for the ceremony and pictures.  Once everyone went inside, the heavens opened up.

Looking out the window during the reception, the sky was lighting up all over, and we really wanted to capture something spectacular with the couple.  So, thanks to Elise from Old Daley Inn, she brought us through secret territory under the building to get the couple downstairs onto their porch without a drop of rain water on them.  As we captured some wet weather behind the couple, we had a brief pause in the rain and quickly staged the couple for a lightning picture.  It is amazing we captured what we did; because as a photog, this has got to be one of the trickiest shots to get.

It was such a great day with you both Lizz and Ian and everything went beautifully on your day.  We wish you much love and happiness!
