Getting the chance to catch up on some Blog posts since we’ve been so busy with shoots lately. We’ve been eager to post this wedding for awhile now. The wedding of Jillian and Adam had us learning a whole different kind of wedding ceremony than we are commonly used to. Jillian and Adam come from a strong Jewish background. The two currently live in Galway, but had to find a venue that could uphold all of their needs and special requests. Their ceremony was a multi-faceted event that incorporated many of the traditional details from the Jewish faith. In addition, they needed a venue that could make a ballroom strictly Kosher to 150 guests. A large feat to take on if you include beverages, appetizers, entrees, and desserts.
Jillian and Adam got ready at the Comfort Inn and Suites in E. Greenbush, where they also chose to do a first look. By doing this early, the entire bridal party had a good chunk of time for photos prior to the festivities planned for the evening. We journeyed over to Birch Hill in Castleton, NY and took advantage of their vast grounds to do some formal and fun shots. About an hour prior to the ceremony, Adam sat down with the Rabbi, his father, and family members to create the marriage contract. Then Adam was escorted to a waiting Jillian where he put the veil over her face before heading to the ceremony location.
It was a beautiful ceremony held near the pond, where the bride and groom were married under the traditional Jewish Chuppah surrounded by close family members. At the end of the ceremony, Adam stomped on a towel covered glass as everyone shouted “Mazel Tov!”
Guests then moved indoors to the Columbia Ballroom inside of Birch Hill, where festivities were kicked off with traditional Jewish dancing and Jillian and Adam were hoisted up on chairs. It was such an interesting evening and we were thrilled to get the chance to experience this type of wedding. We had such a blast working along fellow wedding professionals, such as Erin Marzilli, makeup artist, Russ Gentner from Conway Entertainment and, Tony Gibson from Time Capsule Photobooths.
Best wishes to you, Adam and Jillian for a happily ever after! Thanks for letting us be part of your special day!
