Sarah & Dan’s Aqua Turf Club, CT Wedding Northeast Wedding Photographer

We get the question all the time, “do you guys travel for weddings?”  Heck, yeah we do!  Proof in point with this new wedding that took place in Connecticut.  We’ve been so excited to post this wedding since we first met Sarah and Dan.  The two are SERIOUS baseball lovers and we even did their engagement session at Joe Bruno Stadium in Troy.  There’s a huge rivalry in the house of the Yankees vs. the Red Sox, but these two can’t be any more in love.  From the moment we met them, we knew it was going to be a fun day.  Dan is the brother of one of our family session regulars, Dustin and his wife Carrie!  We love this family and knew it was going to be an amazing day.

We stayed over the night prior since the venue was 2-1/2 hours away.  We got up bright and early and headed to Sarah’s hotel room where she was busy getting hair and makeup done.  Everyone was all smiles when we arrived and we even got the chance to pop into Dan’s room for some prep shots of him as well.  The day’s forecast called for rain so we made some adjustments to our first look location.  When we headed to the Aqua Turf Club, it was wonderful that we had the place literally to ourselves.  This place is MASSIVE and has about 4 different ballrooms and a garden that would be any photographer’s dream.  We did the first look inside, but after the ceremony, we were so happy that the skies cleared for a bit so we could take advantage of the location.  The reception venue was HUGE and probably the largest we’ve ever shot.  During the first dance, the staff at the Aqua Turf Club set up a box of dried ice.  Keith and I were a litttle confused by this, but when the smoke started billowing around the couple, it made for some AMAZING photos (come to find out this is pretty common in CT).  We even had some fun near the end of the reception and took the whole bridal party outdoors for a mock baseball game.  When it came to who could pitch the ball, Sarah’s mom, Robin offered, and boy was she a GREAT pitcher.  It was so much fun!!  Thanks so much for allowing us to be part of your special day Sarah and Dan.  It is definitely going to stay a memorable one for us!

NY needs to get on board with this first dance staple in CT; dry ice.  Such cool shots!  It looks like they are dancing on clouds.
