Sarah & Chris’ Century House Wedding Albany NY Wedding Photographer

2013 was our busiest year!!!  We had weddings right up till the end.  We really LOVE what we do and actually get really excited before each and every one of the weddings we shoot.  We ALWAYS have such a great time and end up hugging each of our brides and grooms at the end of the night; leaving more as friends then as just the photographers.

We were really excited for this wedding since Meg went to high school with Sarah and was honored to be asked to photograph her wedding.  Sarah and Chris met each other back in 2007 when they both played in a band for the graduation ceremony of their local community college.  Music is a pretty strong bond between these two.  Sarah went on to teach music to school-aged children, and Chris is a guitarist in the band Matt Pond PA (hint:  check this band out; AMAZING!).

Sarah and Chris both got ready at The Century House in Latham.  Sarah’s girls were well prepared with keeping Sarah calm and putting everything together as she finished up getting her hair done.  Sarah is a very detailed and creative person.  We just fell in love with the pop of turquoise that came from her hand-made broach bouquet and the bridesmaids jeweled bouquets.

Chris got ready in another part of the hotel and we quickly grabbed a few shots and led him to the first look location.  The first look took place in the warm and inviting hotel restaurant right in front of the fireplace.

The two were married in front of family and friends in the White Ballroom and Sarah and her girls came down the aisle to custom music created by Chris, himself.

The cocktail hour was full of many great conversations and many guests complimented on the neat wedding images of various members of the couple’s families.  Each guest was also asked to fill out a unique post card for the couple in lieu of a guest book and I’m hearing that Sarah’s mom has actually been sending these to Sarah and Chris through the mail.  What a neat idea!!

The main ballroom was opened by coordinator Leslie Meyer and her staff from the Century House.  DJ Mike Reilly from CT Productions and fellow DJ Mark Brenneisen from Total Entertainment had everyone dancing.  The December day was very overcast.  The weathermen predicted showers, but their was a SLIGHT chance of snow flurries.  We waited ALL DAY in hoping it would snow.  We finally got our wish near the end of the night and quickly pulled Chris and a little bit reluctant Sarah to take some pics outside (IT WAS FREEZING OUT).  We were only out a few minutes, but I have to say, it paid OFF.  Their Teaser image was one of our most liked Wedding images on Facebook.  Scroll down and you will see why!

Thanks so much for a wonderful day spent with the both of you Sarah and Chris!  We wish you both a very healthy and happy forever after!

That bouquet was heavy.  It is sitting in a sturdy base here, but I think Sarah got some arm muscles that day.  Absolutely beautiful!

The Prep

Sarah has such a classic beauty about her.  I just love the added coat to her gown.

Amazing and OH SO COZY!

These two are so relaxed around each other

The Ceremony

We had some fun with the Rings.  Sorry couldn’t pick our favorite ;).

Reception

B-I-N-G-O!!!

Meg helping out with the veil.  DJs Mike Reilly and Mark Brenneisen, and Meg with some  fellow ICC alumni (yup, the school that was ALWAYS closed) ;).
