We are so blessed that we get to spend a couple’s most important day with them and capture it behind our lenses. When asked by family and friends to photograph their special day; we are truly honored. Meg’s second cousin Nikki just got married to the love of her life, Alex a few weeks back up in Old Forge, NY. The two have been together awhile and even though originally from the capital district, Nikki’s job with Lockheed Martin has moved them to various cities such as Raleigh, NC and Syracuse, NY. They wanted to come back to their roots for their big day.
The private ceremony was held at Alex’s family’s campsite right on the water with spectacular views. Immediately after saying their “I Do’s” and kissing, they were enthusiastically greeted by their oldest son Christian, who obviously wanted to be the first to congratulate them. The campsite was gorgeous and afforded us with some wonderful backdrops to get pictures of family, the wedding party, and the couple themselves. Alex’s parents set up a surprise antique boat to come ashore and pick up the newlyweds for a quick ride around the lake. Of course, Keith jumped in the boat for a ride. It was exhilarating!
As reception guests began to arrive, they entered into a tent with each table decorated with a unique terrarium. Nikki and Alex are very conscious about the environment and wanted their reception to be “green.” Guests were given Balsam tree saplings for favors, and every detail was decided with Earth in mind (tablecloths, plates, etc.). DJ Jim Knott kicked things off and the couple and guests danced the night away. Their second son, Cody who had been born previously this year, surprisingly kept awake for most of the day. Thanks Nikki and Alex for allowing us to capture your day. Love you guys!
