Lauren & John, June 1, 2018, Century House
This is probably the first wedding we’ve shot where we literally had EVERY kind of weather imaginable; well almost. Lauren & John’s wedding day was a HOT and HUMID one. Starting out our June weddings, the flowers were changing over and the trees were dropping pollen, and in big amounts. When we did the first look with this couple, in some spots it looked like it was snowing. We worked some magic and were able to capture some very amazing shots without drawing attention to the big fuzzies. This couple seriously is the sweetest and the heat, full on sun, and even pollen didn’t deter them one bit. They just fit together and it’s evident when they are near one another. They actually GLOW. We used the back trails of the Century House for some great shots before the couple were married outdoors in front of about 180 guests. Reception was in the grand White Ballroom indoors and midway through, we grabbed the couple for some more images in front of the building which has some of our favorite shooting spots. The wedding guests came to party and had some killer dance moves, I may add. After the cake was cut, we peeked outdoors and saw some amazing sunset light. We whisked these two out there and got some pink skies. The reception proceeded and we checked our weather app and a HUGE storm cell was proceeding to our location. Right at the end of the night, it POURED so hard. Keith and I looked at each other and said, “YUP, we’re capturing it.” We grabbed our umbrellas out of the car and grabbed a VERY brave Bride and Groom and made some magic in the rain (see below). What a truly amazing day! Thanks again Lauren and John for your trust in us and allowing us to photograph your special day.
