Colleen and David currently live in Cleveland, OH and met in college through friends. Both Colleen and David are originally from NY. Around the holidays, they came home to be with family. As they were driving from house to house visiting, David took some back roads and pulled into Saratoga State Park. Colleen was pretty confused as he got out of the car and walked around to open her door. Right there, he got down on one knee and proposed. The family fully knowing what was going on gathered back at the house to all be there to congratulate them when they arrived.
We began our communication with Colleen through SKYPE. We have used this more times than I can count. It is WONDERFUL for clients that live out of state (or even out of country-which we’ve used a couple times for). It gives you that face time and is so much more personal than a phone call. We love it if we can’t physically meet with a client in person. We also got the chance to meet them in person during their Engagement session when they were home a few months back.
Their Wedding day started at Colleen’s parents’ house, where Colleen and her girls were prompt in getting dressed and being ready for pictures. Colleen’s beloved dog, Lucy even stole a few pictures with the Bride. We then headed over to Sacred Heart Church in Castleton to meet up with David and the guys getting ready in the basement. When we arrived they were all trying to figure out how to fold their pocket squares (let me tell you, those directions are confusing!!). The ceremony was beautiful and the couple exited the church in grand fashion with all of their guests wishing them well. We took advantage of the beautiful property of the church for a few shots and then everyone hopped in their cars to head up to Longfellows in Saratoga for the reception.
We walked around the property up there for some more shots and then proceeded inside where Brenda and her crew from Longfellows and DJ Gregg White got the party started. The theme of the centerpieces were birds and birdhouses and Bud’s Florist did a beautiful job. The two along with their fun bridal party danced the night away and I swear Colleen was on the dance floor ALL NIGHT. We wish you both the very best Colleen and David and thank you so much for choosing KHP to photograph your special day!
